Map Montage is an iPad app that turns the photos and videos from a trip into a film. It is made by an individual developer, Steven Askwith. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your photos stay on your iPad, and the developer collects nothing.
Nothing. Map Montage has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not send your photos, videos, films or any personal information to the developer or to anyone else.
With your permission, Map Montage reads the photos and videos in your Photos library so you can choose them, and reads their dates and locations so it can order scenes and suggest a route. All of this happens on your iPad. The app never changes, adds to or deletes anything in your library.
You can change or withdraw this permission at any time in Settings › Map Montage › Photos.
Projects, the music you add and the films you render are stored on your iPad, inside the app. A film leaves your iPad only when you choose to share it — for example to Photos, AirDrop or Messages — and then goes only where you send it.
When you search for a place or ask for road directions while drawing a route, the app uses Apple Maps, so the search text and the locations involved are sent to Apple. That is covered by Apple's privacy policy. The developer does not receive it.
If you test Map Montage through TestFlight, Apple may share with the developer the information TestFlight provides, such as crash reports and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. This is used only to fix problems and improve the app. See Apple's privacy policy and TestFlight's terms for what Apple collects.
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
